This study is a qualitative research method. The data were gathered through observation and documentation. Then, analyzed data was presented formally and informally. The subjects in this study were 25 learners of an English course institution in Denpasar, at the level of basic Based on the analysis, it was found that task planning duration affects the fluency and accuracy of oral presentation. The longer the duration of the task planning, the higher level of fluency and accuracy of the language will be used by learners.

In this study, 30 English as a foreign language learner individually performed a narrative and an argumentative task under planned and unplanned conditions. Then, ten of the participants took part in a retrospective debriefing. Both the oral narratives and retrospective reports were transcribed and analyzed manually. The results revealed that planning led to syntactically more varied but less accurate language whilst fluency remained unaffected. Significant effects of task type could be observed, with argumentation outperforming narration on most measures. In addition, an interaction between planning and task type was statistically proven for almost all measures of fluency and for a single measure of complexity. Furthermore, most participants had positive attitudes towards pre-task planning.

This study investigated L2 speaking performance under three different types of task-related time pressure, with a control Control group narrating a video at normal playing rate, an online planning OP group narrating the video at a slowed playing rate, and a hybrid online planning HOP group which combined online planning a slowed playing rate with content preparedness through prewatching the video. The results show that the HOP group outperformed the Control group regarding speech accuracy and complexity, suggesting that this form of online planning, with content preparedness, helps improve speech accuracy and complexity. In addition, L2 proficiency significantly predicted speech accuracy, specifically, among all other performance measures. The implications of these findings for language teaching and learning are discussed, particularly their relevance for the way a Conceptualiser-Formulator balance is important, and for the way proficiency can best be mobilised within task performance.
